do modern telecasters still have an additional capacitor that dampens mids and bass?

I have a Telecaster Standard Telecaster and I read on wikipedia that
Telecasters have an additional capacitor that accentuates Treble but
dampens Mids and Bass. Is this still common, or is this capacitor
normal for any electric guitar to include? I want to know this because
I'd like to know if I could just remove this one part to add more bass
and mid to my guitar.
