pretty little liars tv and books?

hi:) I LOVE Pretty Little Liars the TV show and heard that the books
are awesome and even better than the show. So i want to read them..but
if i start now will I get confused between what has happend in the
show and books? because i heard at times they were different. Also,
will anything in the books give anything away of what is going to
happen in the show? like i said i LOVE the show.
